Help and Assistance
If you require any assistance to help you enjoy the day, please visit the Help Point located at the Riley Centre Reception. The Help Point will be open from 11am-8pm. Staff and Pupils will also be available to assist you, and will be found around the School throughout the day. They can be easily identified by the white sashes they will be wearing.
The Riley Centre café, located on the first floor, will be open from 10am-3.30pm and from 4-7pm, serving hot and cold snacks. There will also be a number of street food stalls, selling a variety of hot dishes from 12-7pm, located on the paved area outside the Arts Centre. Finally, a retro sweet shop will sell sweets from your school days from 10am-6pm, in the Warburton Suite located on the first floor of the Riley Centre. Please note that payments for all food and snacks will be cash only.
The Bar in the Upper Hall of the Arts Centre will be open from 12-7pm. Alcoholic drinks will not be served elsewhere on campus.
Open Sessions on the School Organs
From 10-11am, there will be open sessions on both School organs for Alumni who may like to revisit the organ playing of their youth! These sessions will be supervised by Michael Pain and Peter Morrison, the Divisional Organists; guests who wish to take part should bring their own music if possible.
Photographic Memories of the Day
From 2-6pm, there will be a photography ‘studio’ on the top floor of the Riley Centre, overlooking the Centre Arch, for guests to have a photograph taken with classmates or family as a memento of the day, provided by Old Boy Mark Power. Photographs will be available to purchase online from the week after the Reunion, with £2 from each sale being donated to the 100 Campaign for Bursaries. The prices for photographs will be as follows:
£12 plus P&P for a mounted 5×7 image
£9 plus P&P for an un-mounted 5×7 image
£7.50 for the digital image
There will be a cloakroom in each Division, in A5 in Boys’ Division and A3 in Girls’ Division, available throughout the day. Please note that these cloakrooms will not be manned, and items are left at the guest’s own risk.
A variety of School merchandise, including Bolton School wine, copies of previous books sold by the School and advance copies of the anniversary book, The Best of Both Worlds, will be available for sale from 12-7pm in the Warburton Suite, located on the first floor of the Riley Centre. It will be possible to pay with both card and cash for items purchased.
Guests with Mobility Issues
All guests who have requested a disabled parking space will receive a special Reunion ‘Blue Badge’ in the post before Wednesday 23rd September. If you have not received your badge by then, please contact the Development Office. Badges will only be sent to those who have requested them – if you require a reserved space, and have not yet contacted us, then please do so immediately.
On the day of the Reunion, those with a ‘Blue Badge’ should park in the KidZone car park, immediately on the left as you enter the School campus via the Dobson Road gate. Access to this car park will be restricted to those with this ‘Blue Badge’ and you will be asked to show this on entry. Guests should then access the Divisions for registration via the front or rear entrances to the Riley Centre, signposted throughout the campus.
The Arts Centre, Riley Centre, Hesketh House and Beech House are all accessible with a wheelchair, as are the ground and first floors of the two Senior Schools. In the main School building, guests should access the first floors of both Senior Schools via the lift in the Riley Centre. The two Dining Halls should be accessed at ground level, via the Girls’ Division Netball Courts and the Dobson Road Quad, at the rear of each building.
We regret that the second floors of both Senior Schools, the upper floors of Park Road, and the Upper Hall of the Arts Centre are not accessible with a wheelchair.
Guests with Dietary Requirements
Those Alumni who are vegetarian, require gluten-free food, or who have a nut, dairy or egg allergy will be accommodated at both the seated lunches and in the food sold at the Riley Centre Café. The list of Alumni with more specific requirements has been reviewed by the Catering Manager, who will ensure that tailored dishes, if required, will be available for them at both the seated lunches and at the Riley Centre Café.
Those Alumni who have informed us of their dietary requirements will receive a coloured ticket at Registration, which they should pass either to the catering staff serving the food in the seated lunches, or to the staff at the Riley Centre café (if they are unable to select from the range offered there) in order to receive their food.
Those with dietary requirements who purchase food from the street food stalls should speak to the vendors directly to ensure that the food they purchase is suitable for them.
There is no dress code for the Reunion – School ties and hats are not required!
Business Card Drop
A business card drop will be located at the Help Point in the Riley Centre Reception – leave your business card to take part in the prize draw. The winner will be notified in the week after the Reunion.
The official attendance book, which will be placed in the School Archive for posterity following the Reunion, will be available for signing throughout the day at the Help Point at Riley Centre Reception. Don’t forget to sign your name!
